I got the itch…

Ya feel it, Andy? I’m Jonesin for some festival. Even though three great bands have canceled (Robbie Randolph, Balkan Beat Box and Vampire Weekend) we press on. There’s a bunch of rain expected … we’ll get muddy and dance. I got shpilkis in my right leg. You always have shpilkis. I want to set-up the tent in the front yard tonight for our sleep over… or maybe just your living room.

I feel like we’ve thought of everything, but I’m sure we haven’t. I think we’ll realize the next couple days that no matter what we plan, we’ll do something radically different. You really think we’ll stick to the “scheduling conflicts we spent hours on?”

I stumbled upon David Byrne and The Pixies at my first festivals, without even realizing who they were. I don’t think there’s any legends like that falling through the crack, but who knows what we’ll get ourselves into. As John Lennon said, “Life is what happens to you while you’re making other plans.” As Andy Hollinden said, “Who’s with me on this one?!”

p.s. We take off for the airport at 4 a.m. tomorrow, but we’ll make sure to post our Chris Wood interview and my guide to the art of crowd surfing in between packing.

Thanks for reading, we promise to keep it going strong, even if we’re writing in the rain.

Love, Zack

  1. Rob Said,

Not sure I ever though I’d find a Hollinden quote somewhere outside his class.
