“I got a call from last night from Mike D,” Michael Stipe informed the crowd as they took the stage for their encore. “He said it was going to be good.”

I didn’t expect it to be this good. Michael Stipe is in a league of his own among front-men. Every second he’s on stage, he demands your full attention. He has the swagger on a man with 3 pound balls and he really backs it up.

Kicling off the show by counting down from 10, before launching into “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” Stipe poses like a rock star at every possible opportunity, flexing his chest to stretch the block letters of his OBAMA t-shirt.

After flinging the medium green shirt into the crowd, Stipe asked that the photographer who caught it to give it to a fan. Stipe led the band through a tight mix of old and new songs, promising the new ones were only two and a half minutes and he’d keep us entertained.

Punk rock are the first two words that came to my head on the new stuff. All of the new songs they played have us quite excited for the upcomming album. “Hollow Man” and “Horse to Water” both had the crowd rocking.

Crowd pleaser “Losing My Religion” sounded as fresh as ever, and “The One I Love” brought the fans to an exiting climax as the set came to an end.

They closed the night strong with an encore of three songs, two of which were promising new songs, followed by “Man in the Moon.”

It’s freezing. We’ll post about the sensational MSMW show in the morning and post some pics.

good night.
love Andy and Zack.

I´m not sure if the track order is right, but if it is: Auctioneer (another engine) is not a new Song. It´s from Fables of the Reconstruction (1985)
