Festival Crashers Summer Tour ’08 kicks off in just two weeks at Summer Camp. The first of three Illinois festivals this summer is in Chillicothe, IL. About 2 1/2 hours SW of Chicago.

My hype level is sky high after we got a 9:53 p.m. e-mail confirming a second press pass, which was denied earlier. I can’t believe we’re seeing George Clinton (right) and Parliament, I’m dying to see The New Pornographers and I can’t believe this is my first Girl Talk experience.

The Flaming Lips and The Roots work a festival crowd as well as anyone and there are a couple dozen more bands that make this a great first stop on the tour. As much as I’m looking forward to the music, I’ve heard some legendary stories about that site. I can’t wait.

Tickets are $155 for the weekend including camping. Hope to see you there.
