Zack was really excited for Blake and I to see Vampire Weekend. Maneuvering a festival like Bonnaroo is never easy in the dark, and the Festival Crashers made it to their set about halfway through.
We got there in time to hear lead singer Ezra Koenig call the band a jam band that plays short songs and as we got settled they played “One (Blake’s Got a New Face).” It was not as exciting as Zack thought it would be, being with a person named Blake.
Koenig introduced “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance” as their slow jam. The biggest reaction from the crowd came from the opening riff to “Oxford Comma,” which Koenig informed the audience was dedicated to Lil John and the East Side Boys. All in all, a good start to our Bonnaroo 2008.
