jackie green Phil Lesh, Larry Campbell, Jackie Greene and Teresa Williams acoustic performance-A.S. We walked up to This Tent just as this acoustic foursome was finishing tuning and sound checking. After a quick hello, the very familiar opening of “Friend of the Devil” sent cheers through the crowd. I had heard Jackie Greene singing for Phil & Friends at Langerado, and briefly the night before as we walked past their late night set, but I think I enjoyed his voice most during this set. It fit well with the acoustic instruments. Or maybe I just really enjoy me an acoustic day set. I mean, who doesn’t?

Phil Lesh wished the crowd a good morning at about 5:00 pm, no doubt referring to the fact that they had just played from 12:00-4:00 am the night before. “Deal” had the Deadhead in all of us singing along. After hearing “Deep Ellem Blues” for the second time that weekend (Levon Helm did it the day before), Blake and I decided it was time to go check out Solomon Burke.
