It’s been way too long since this Festival Crasher has seen live music. Almost a fortnight! Luckily, we’re about to hit the sexiest stride of our Festival Crasher season:
We start Saturday night with a free Stevie Wonder show at the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park. He’s scheduled for 5:30 p.m., but Festival Crashers suggest getting to free shows way early, as it’s first come first serve. Save your money for the sandwiches.
Next weekend we head to Rothbury, Michigan to celebrate the 4th with a line-up that ranks right below Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. We’ll be lighting firecrackers with Snoop, Zappa Plays Zappa, Trey Anastasio, The Black Keys, John Mayer, Gov’t Mule, 311, MMSW, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Of Montreal, Widespread Panic…
Two weeks later, the Festival Crashers split up to cover as much ground as possible. Andy heads to Mile High Festival, near Denver, to see Dave Mathews, Tom Petty, John Mayer, The Black Crows, Steve Winwood, Spoon, Flogging Molly, The Roots, moe. Rodrigo y Gabriela.
I’ll be wiping my horn rimmed glasses on my American Apparel shirt at the uber-hipster Pitchfork Festival: July 18th-20th in Chicag
o. Vampire Weekend, Spoon, Animal Collective, !!!, Ghostface and Raekon as well as groups you’ve never heard of because they’re soo cool that only indie kids know them…
We follow this up with 10k Lakes in Minnesota and Lollapalooza Aug 1-3, but we don’t want to overwhelm you…
