-A.S. Denver, CODave is definitely feeling it.

Dave Matthews Band started playing as a huge LED screen was raised above the stage revealing the band and an awe inspiring light show. “Don’t Drink the Water” kicked things off and had a verse of “This Land is Your Land” mixed in. The photo pit was jam packed and I could barely move during “You Might Die Trying” and “Eh Hee.”That is Dave’s humongous elblow in the background.

Much of the rest of the set that we stayed for rattles off like a greatest hits CD. “Two Step” sounded great as Matt and I snaked through the crowd to get a good spot where sounded good and we could see the lights. Dave didn’t let up, following with crowd pleaser “Satellite.”This shot doesn’t even do the light show justice.

“Sledgehammer” made a repeat performance, but it was a welcome one. Such a fun cover. “Stay (Wasting Time)” sounded awesome with Rashawn Ross and Carter Beauford singing back up vocals. Unfortunately, being totally wiped out from the incredible heat didn’t have us wanting to stay a while. We headed out after an absolutely killer “Jimi Thing” that included a wailing guitar solo from Tim Reynolds.

Dave Matthews dance walks with the best of them.

I was not as blown away with this show as we were at Rothbury, but it was a good time anyways. This line up is definitely the best one I’ve ever seen Dave with. I can’t wait to see Dave and the Black Crowes up at Alpine Valley in a couple of weeks.
