~Z.T.~ I’ve always hated those “Oh I knew about that band before they got famous” kids. Am I turning into what I hate? Maybe. Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune gave Ezra Furman a glowing review in the Trib on Sunday. I’d been writing about them for weeks, thanks to Jennie. Also, cause I know all the cool bands ever and I knew Vampire Weekend in like Jr. high. (dripping with sarcasm).Well, If you ignored my last three suggestions, here’s yet another chance to see Ezra Furman and the Harpoons. They open up for The Walkmen tomorrow (Friday) at 9 at the Metro. Oh, you have Friday plans, hotshot? They’re playing Saturday too! No excuses.
Also, here’s a free never released song about the last song on the mixtape. Like all Ezra Furman songs, it’s personal, raw and full of truths. Get on it. What are you waiting for? Don’t you wanna be “That Guy?!”
