~Z.T.~ Vampire Weekend is made for an afternoon set. They only have an hour worth of songs, so you’re getting ‘em all every time. Dance-y, lively crisp pop.
A 20 foot flag of the album cover draped behind them as they kicked off our Vampire Weekend in Austin.
Lead singer Ezra Koenig kicked off with album opener “Mansford Roof,” as Andy made “He looks so young I bet he just got his drivers license” jokes. He played my personal favorite, “Campus,” before a funny intro to “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa.”

“Technically summer is over. This is kind of a summer jam, but it’s also year round.” Whatever you say, Ezra.
Bringing out a string quartet for “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance” and “M79″ was inspired and added a nice texture to their worldly sound. This was my third Vampire Weekend show of this tour and I can’t wait for next year’s. The songs off their next album pop.
