~Z.T.~ My first instinct is to love this line-up. I’ve seen most of the artists before, but it’s bands and performers I can’t wait to see again:Phish is here for two sets to reclaim their spot as Kings of the Jam scene. Bruce is here to win over a generation that often ignored him. David Byrne is a real treat and a bit of a surprise. I didn’t think I’d ever get to see The Beastie Boys again. I feel like I have some unfinished business with Snoop after he played barely any new stuff at Rothbury. Animal Collective will be a show stopper.
Al Green is going to single-handedly make Andy think about coming to this festival. Hodge knows damn well I need to give NIN a real listen this time. Girl Talk- bring it on you prince of festivals, you. Grace Potter- meet ya at my tent, xoxox. Neko Case- you can come too. Of Montreal and TV on the Radio will be playing two of my top 5 albums of 08 live. And those two always bring it live. Elvis Costello, Warren Haynes, The Boss?
Goodnight, festival lovers. I need to eat a sandwich and start some Bonnaroo dreaming…

Loving this lineup even though it seems a bit mainstream heavy… Glad to see Femi Kuti hitting the festival circuit again, they are always a great change of pace.
Phish at Bonnaroo seems like it will be a crazy memorable experience!
For some reason The Decemberists top my list this year of bands I want to see at a festival. The Crane Wife was so amazing and the upcoming album has good hype. Hoping they are decent live (unlike Spoon who kill me every time I see them).

You know it Schiff. It’s RV time. I feel you Rachel. It’s definitely mainstream heavy, but you’ll be able to find your shows as well. I personally couldn’t stand The Decemberists when I saw them two ‘Roo’s ago, but I’ll give them a second chance. Spoon does let me down too, unfortunately. Two nights of Phish will be heavenly.

MEH. Al Green is certainly not enough to get me to TN. Where are all the bands I haven’t seen 3-5 times already? You know what’s going to be heavenly? Not having to drive 9 hours to see two nights of Phish…

Well, let the contest for who wants to go to Bonnaroo with me in ’09 begin…

Teibs -
I’m down with ya. I’ll request my days off of work right now. Too bad Shore’s gotta be a party-pooper.

I’d have to give Santogold about a 4.5

Qualifications for getting the extra Festival Crashers ticket: You need to own and be fully operational with a high quality camera w/ multiple lenses. You’ll also need to be able to keep up with me.

First of all, I never said I wasn’t going. I told you I would make my decision based on whether or not we were given a photo pass this year.

Al Green is way better live the NIN. His set at Jazzfest last year changed my life, and I listen to his music at least once a week now. Whereas NIN at Voodoo was so overrated.
More importantly, Allen Touissant should be at 9.9 on your list. Aside from the fact that him and Costello will prob play together at some point during this festival, he is one of the most underrated producers and performers of all time. Especially in the sense that he produced all of the music that influenced this festival (Meters, Yardbirds, Stones)- INCLUDING producing and arranging Dr. John’s “Desitively Bonnaroo”the song from which the festival gets his name.
So. The always classy Mr. Touissant might just deserve a bump up to 9.9.
and I might just take a roadtrip to TN this summer.

Fair enough. we’ll keep the ‘roo ticket reserved for Shore.
Sami- i saw touissant w/ costello two ‘roos ago and loved it. I’d happily bump him into the 9 zone. He is wildly underrated. all good points.

sami- your love for allen toussaint can only be rivaled by mine! plus i’m coming new orleans in a few months, teibs promised me you’d show me some good musical venues!
great lineup, not going, i’ve seen everyone too many times on the lineup, in fact while i think it’s a great lineup i’m totally disappointed by it at the sametime.
al green and NIN are prob the only two on the list that i haven’t seen that i want to see…maybe femi kuti too but that can get way boring (just my opinion)
bonnaroo has been going mainstream since 2004…nothing new about that…

I officially volunteer to dress up and act like Mr. Shore for the entire weekend. I’ve got a high quality camera and know a thing or two about slapping some meat and cheese between slices of bread. Furthermore, I will bring a carabiner, upon which we can attach any keys that we have with us. I was a cub scout and know how to tie 5 kinds of knots. Finally, I am taller than Andy so you can easily find me in the crowd when you get lost.

Good Point there Brian, but I have a hot pink FC t-shirt. so you can totally find me in a crowd teibs!!!

I saw Alejandro Escovedo at the Park West a few months ago with Franklin. I’ll put him at an 8.0, and hope he covers some Stones and Mott the Hoople again.

Sigh. Laid off and living in Nashville. Looks like I’ll have plenty of free time this summer. Just no spare funds. It’s always something
