@AndyShore The little jam band festival in the Midwest just got some street cred. Method Man & Redman top the list of artist additions for Summer Camp Music Festival 2009. I saw Method Man once at the Bluebird in Bloomington, IN. A small bar to see a rap show in. He put on a great show and has incredible stage presence. At one point he was walking over the crowds upheld hands, while holding onto the rafters. See who else Summer Camp has added. Read the rest of this entry »

@AndyShore This week the contestants can pick any of the iTunes most popular downloads. After a few throw back weeks and ::shudder:: country week, I’m looking forward to some hits. I think some of the top 9 will really benefit from being able to sing something current. Anoop Desai, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta killed it last week. Megan Joy is going to have to rebound after a pretty dreadful performance last week. Read the rest of this entry »
@AndyShore All Points West Music & Arts Festival will return to Liberty State Park in New Jersey from July 31-August 2nd. Festival Crashers didn’t make it out to this one last year, but from all accounts, it was was a great success. The locale provides views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Manhattan skyline while festival goers can check out 65+ artists on three different stages. This year’s line up looks great. @AndyShore Flaming Lips is now among the bands coming to the middle coast for Pitchfork this summer. It was originally reported that they would be participating in the “Write the Night” series at the festival, but that has been corrected. Flaming Lips will close out the festival Sunday night. The “Write the Night” series will take place Friday night and includes Built to Spill, the Jesus Lizard, Tortoise and Yo La Tengo. Read the rest of this entry »
Michael Sarver, Megan Joy and Scott MacIntyre were clearly the bottom three yesterday. Adam Lambert, Matt Giraud, Allison Iraheta and Anoop Desai were among the best. I hope that my buddy Michael, aka Pee Break, is the one that goes home, but I won’t be upset if it’s Scott either. Honestly, I’m more excited for the duet with Joss Stone and Smokey Robinson and the Motown Ok, let’s get this results show over with so I can watch 30 Rock and the Office. @AndyShore Mile High Music Festival was a great time last year. I headed out west to Denver, while Zack was getting his indie rock on at Pitchfork. The non-camping, 2-day festival is the perfect destination for the music lover that can’t take much time off from work. See music all day long Saturday and Sunday, and cap it off with a great headliner at the end of each day. Last year it was Dave Matthews Band and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers sending the music lovers into the night. They’ve put together a solid line up once again this year. Read the rest of this entry »
@AndyShore It’s Motown night tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to watch American Idol. I hope the guys do David Ruffin, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder their justice. I imagine the girls will bust out a decent amount of Diana Ross and Mary Wells. I can only hope that Pee Break himself, Michael Sarver, doesn’t have the chops to make it past this round. Scott McIntyre has to show me something this week, or else he may be headed home too. Read the rest of this entry »
Artist additions have the ability to take a festival to another level. Sometimes it’s the difference between hitting up a regional festival or making the cross country drive. That one extra artist can take you from being on the fringe to confidently booking those plane tickets and beginning the anticipation game. An already stellar Bonnaroo 2009 line up just got even better. Read the rest of this entry »
@ZackTeibloom This list is not definite, so don’t go making your “I <3 JB & KG” posters quite yet. Festival Crashers super-fan Hodge sent me a link to this line-up on the Chicago Sun Times. He got the info from a blogger called Faronheit, who got the list from a source at C3.
Even the source admits that 10% of these artists are NOT actually on the line-up. That said, it seems like a lot of this is legit. The only one that jumps out to me as false is Tenacious D. I pray they’ll be here, but I’m skeptical. OK, enough disclaimers, to the line-up! P.S. It’s really strong. Read the rest of this entry »
@ZackTeibloom Another festival line-up leak from Hodge. This time it’s ACL, my new hometown’s fall festival which takes place Oct. 2-4th. What a batch of heavyweights.
This information has not been officially confirmed, but comes from “a loose-lipped C3 insider, overheard at the “Rock the Rabbit” party”according to Austin360.com.
I can tell you first hand that all of these bands put on a spectacular show. Beastie Boys (9.7), Dave Matthews Band (9.6), Ghostland Observatory (9.2), Kings of Leon (9.3), Pearl Jam (9.8). Let’s hope it’s true and the festival fills out as well as Lollapalooza has.
