@Andy Shore It feels good to say I told you so. So I’m not going to apologize for doing so now. Especially since I need some feel good right about now. I’ve still got about 5 1/2 weeks to go on my DL stint, so bare with me. My A&R skills appeared decent when my pick to click, Danny Gokey, made it to the top three. It seems another guess I made is right on.It put a smile on my face today when I read that Queen would like to talk with American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, about working together in the future.
Guitarist Brian May said that he did not get a good chance to speak with Lambert among all the hullabaloo at the American Idol finale, but May told Rolling Stone that he and drummer Roger Taylor “are hoping to have a meaningful conversation with [Lambert] at some point.” I’ve been saying Adam Lambert could be the front-man for Queen since early on in the season. There is no truer validation than the members of that very band agreeing with me. Lambert and American Idol winner Kris Allen sang “We Are the Champions” with Queen during the finale last week.
Until recently Paul Rodgers, former front-man of Bad Company, had been manning vocals for Queen. I was not a big fan of the new recordings they had released with Rodgers. I do not think that Lambert is close to the vocal master that Freddie Mercury was, but I would look forward to the music that they would produce. Even if Lambert doesn’t end up doing something with Queen, I hope that he sticks with the rock music that made him famous this season on Idol.
