mattandkimpitchfork@AndyShore Matt and Kim took the stage at Pitchfork a bit late, but who could be mad at the ear to ear grins they were sporting. Kim said she heard the B stage was the party stage. After seeing their high energy set at Pitchfork, I can safely say that any stage Matt and Kim take is the party stage. Nobody appears to have more fun than those two, which says a lot. The hipsters went nuts for this band.

Matt explained that they wrote “Yea, Yeah” about the future, meaning the summer of 2009. Leaving the photo pit and finding a place in the crowd, I was in awe of the amount of sound that came from two people. Matt fills the soundscape with all sorts of synth and keys magic. Kim plays heavy on the cymbals to garner a fuller sound. Everything the duo offered up was rocking and danceable. I thought they were going to rock the hipsters right out of their slip-ons.
