@AndyShore No offense to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but they never stood a chance. They’re not the Beastie Boys, nor will they ever be. At All Points West, Jay Z replaced the Beastie Boys and opened with “No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn.” The Yeah Yeah Yeahs can’t top that. At Outside Lands, the Beasties are being replaced with Tenacious D. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will never make me laugh like the D does. The fact of the matter is, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs drew a huge reaction from the Lollapalooza crowd. I’m just holding a grudge.
Karen O took the stage wearing a head dress and shawl made of colorful hands. It looked like a pre school art project. Goofy wardrobe aside, Karen O is an impressive front woman. She swills water and spits it into the air. She throws her arms out wide and spins in circles. Mostly, she leads a band that the fans at Lollapalooza were loving. Two girls I talked to before the set told me they’d been waiting in the heat since 11:08. Truth be told, I may have had a good time at their show if they were the band originally scheduled to be there.

Funny thing about Tenacious D is that Kyle Gass was at Lolla… I woulda prefered to even see him as a headliner over Tool and their ToolFans or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

are you a mainstream/arena rock fan? many music critics thought the yeah yeah yeahs were the highlight of the festival. you obviously have very mainstream taste in music considering you liked the killers (worst band of the festival imo) and not the yeah yeah yeahs.
