@ZackTeibloom Flogging Molly was one of the shows I was most annoyed at myself for missing at ACL this year. It takes a raucous band to make it worth standing in the rain (sorry Bon Iver) and Flogging Molly’s American Celtic brand of punk is perfect for pounding whiskey in the rain.
I had to watch from Chris’ room on Hulu as I pounded a Four Loco. Check out the interview/performance from ACL. I suggest having something with at least a 60 proof around. If you’re not drunk enough to wildly sing chorus’ you’re just learning as the song goes, your not drunk enough. Get wild.

@ZackTeibloom Our friends at Roxwel.com put together some stellar artist interviews/performance packages from ACL and agreed to share them with us. Here’s their Phoenix package, my favorite show of ACL ’09.
@ZackTeibloom I practically had to beg you to enter this contest, but you finally came up with some good stories. It came down to two naked festival-goers. How appropriate. We had an appearance from Ronnie Woo Woo, a shoeless wonder and one stranger sent in
@ZackTeibloom I want to remember this day. I want to remember the things I didn’t remember the next morning. No, it was more than that. I couldn’t even process them as they were going on. It was a 22+ hour shit show that started with 5:20 a.m. McDonald’s Breakfast and ended with singing Pinkerton into a mini basketball hoop at 3:45 a.m. as I struggled to remain on my feet. In between? I’m gonna try to piece it together.
Even though Andy and I crashed JazzFest seven times between us, ACL will go down as the best crashed festival of the season. My roommate crashed, I snuck @chrisinaustin in even though he broke my wristband forcing me to crash two days and, most impressively, @candabus and @doctorcollins created media passes. A whole new level of crashing we hadn’t attempted yet. We needed @candabus to tell us how the big crash went down.
@AndyShore ACL 2008 was my favorite festival of last season, and I could not wait to get back for another year. Despite only being in my new digs in LA for a week, I had to come see what ACL 2009 would have in store. Zack was so excited to get to the festival, that we arrived before 10:30 on Friday. While I sat down to write an e-mail, Zack headed in to listen to Andrew Bird’s sound check. With time to kill, we found a full Beatles Rock Band set up and put on a little show of our own. Zack and I channeled our inner John and Paul, while taking on the responsibilities of both playing and singing at the same time.
@ZackTeibloom After I picked my jaw up off the floor at The Dead Weather, I pretended I was on cross country ski’s and slid my way across the muddy mess that was Zilker Park and slid over to Girl Talk. I tried meeting up with a couple friends, but reception was weak and if there’s ever a good time to be single, it’s at a Girl Talk show.
@ZackTeibloom Jack White may have gotten his start on drums, and he’s no slouch at the kit, but an electric guitar needs to be in his hands at all times. The Dead Weather has capable guitar players that produce a rich, full sound with Dean Fertita on lead and Jack Lawrence on bass with Alison Mossheart even playing on a couple songs, but when JWIII picked up the axe for closer “Will There Be Enough Water*,” a strong rock band turned world class. My jaw dropped.
