@ZackTeibloom It’s that time of year again. It’s about to get poppy around here. The Christmas lights are up, everyone’s getting fat and seeing their family more than they’d like. And it’s cold. Even in Austin. Good times. Thankfully, it’s time for the 2nd annual “Catchiest song of the year” contest.
If you didn’t play last year, here’s how it works: We put together a bracket of the 16 catchiest songs of the year and open it up for you to make your picks. 1 point for a correct answer in the first round, 2 pts for the second round, 4 pts … you get the idea. Most points wins a prize package. You also win if the song you nominated gets picked as catchiest of ’09. Since I nominated a bunch of these songs, and love you, I’ll leave those OPEN. First people to turn in a bracket get to pick a song to own. Last year we got signed Vampire Weekend albums, Of Montreal CD’s, Weezer vinyl and we’re looking to get even more goodies this year. Plus, it’s all the fun of March Madness in December. Trust me, you want to make a bracket.
We’ve got our 16 nominated songs, but I wouldn’t say they’re set in stone. It’s like they’re set in wet cement. You can still take a stick and write “PENIS” all up in it (And by that I mean you can still beg us to swap out a song and we just may do it.) And the Jay-Z song was on. And the Jay-Z song was on.
