floridaciara @ZackTeibloom You probably have a positive reaction to “Right Round” without even realizing why. It was the ending song for “The Hangover” as those still pictures of the night no one could remember came across the screen. You know why you have a positive reaction to “Love, Sex, Magic.” It’s JT being sexy again and there hasn’t been too much new Justin this year. Flo Rida had a #1 hit this year with “Right Round” by heavily sampling the ’85 hit you know from The Wedding Singer. Ciara put her name on the map with this international sensation that went #1 in Taiwan, India and Turkey to name a few. Are you gonna go for the one that makes you think of Zach Galifianakis’ junk while being chased by Mike Tyson’s tiger or JT and Ciara getting hot. Personally, I’m partial to Zach G-funk’s balls.

“Right Round” by Flo Rida

@ZackTeibloom “Right Round” is so catchy, it’s almost cheating. You’re taking the 1985 classic “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record,)” removing the awful drum track*, putting a fat beat behind it, rapping over it and turning an innocent crush into a song about a guy who’s king of the strip club. JT and Ciara are a hot duo, and Andy’s right that they do harmonize well, but there’s no hook or beat that has anything on “Right Round.” It’s loaded with lyrics, which rattle off Flo Rida’s tongue than saying the name “Flo Rida” rattles off mine. It’s a million times catchier than the original by Dead or Alive. And that’s saying something.

“Love, Sex, Magic” – Ciara f. Justin Timberlake

@Andyshore This song is catchy even before Ciara starts singing. The synth-based beat gets my head rocking every time the song comes on. To be honest, the beat may even be catchier than the melody of the hook. I couldn’t tell you any of the words to the chorus, except for “love and sex and magic.” That being said, the way the two harmonize on it is catchy. It hasn’t always been the case this contest that what is being done musically is what makes a song catchy. Sure someone can pay for a sick beat or sing at an auto-tuned wavelength that gets imbedded in your brain. The beat, combined with well-sung harmonies and the fact the song exudes sexuality makes me want to watch the video over and over and makes this song one of the Catchiest Songs of 2009.

*Seriously, have you ever seen the original video from the Dead or Alive song. So many questions. Why the eye patch? How does he get that outfit off? Why the twirling flag?
