@ZackTeibloom The only one who could beat Lady Gaga this year was Lady Gaga. Not even Miley could make it close. It’s “Pokerface” for the win. What that means for the contest is that Zelin and J.Ho are tied for the best bracket. For anyone scoring at home, that’s back-to-back championships for Zelin but he’s not there yet. “You wanna crown em?” You can’t crown him yet. They say a tie is like kissing your sister, but what if it’s a tie with your fellow SIT? You have to break the tie. “It ain’t over till it’s over.” “You play to win the game.” Playoffs? You wanna talk about playoffs? We’re just trying to win a game. Playoffs*? OK it’s time for the playoff game.
Last year we made you pick a runner-up song from the year that we didn’t already pick. We’re giving you some flexibility this year. You can pick from any song in the 2000’s. The catchiest song of all. I know it’s daunting, so here’s Rolling Stone’s top 100 songs of the decade to help get you started. Personally, I’d go with “Crazy” or “Hey Ya.” If you two could comment on this story with the song you want to pick and e-mail me and Andy your 1-2 paragraphs about why your song is the catchiest of the decade by Tuesday at 3 p.m. that would be lovely. We’ll leave it open for a couple days for voting just like every other song. Rock ‘n’ roll.
Also, Rob O’Connor nominated “Pokerface” and has elected to take the Yo Gabba Gabba soundtrack.
*This contest is not supported by Coors Light. Or NFL coaches. Though I heard Ditka voted for Miley.
