@AndyShore I am not even sure I know what the FYF in FYF Fest even stands for. I’d know what it meant if it was FRF Fest instead (3 people that read this might get that!). I found out last night that I’m pretty close in the comparison, because it’s F*ck Yeah Fest. I feel like North Coast Music Festival is more deserving of that title though. The reviews from North Coast last night were positive. I hope that FYF Fest can hold it’s own today. It’s all indie music and comedy. I’m looking forward to the comedy, more than I am the indie bands. Hell, I might even be looking forward to the food trucks more than the indie music. It’s just who I am. I do know some of the bands, and have been told to see a few others. Who should I check out?
I had to laugh when I saw the Mountain Goats on the line-up. I have twice seen Matt Besser (who is performing at FYF) do his version of a Mountain Goats song. It’s funny. Watch it here. I can only hope for a Mountain Goats sit-in at the Fest.
Zack literally did a mad dash at Coachella to see Local Natives. I had to park the car. Today is my chance to see them. Should be a good time. See if you can spot Bryn and Laura in this video from Bonnaroo (I didn’t actually see them, but maybe you can).
I hate to admit it, but I’m more informed on the comedians at FYF Fest than the music. I’m going into it with an open mind, and hopefully I’ll find more than a few bands I really like. I listened to a some Panda Bear and really dug it. They go up against the Rapture. I’ll probably have to split my time there. I also know I’m going to see !!!. Besides that, I’m gonna wander. Follow me on Twitter @AndyShore for updates from FYF Fest.
