@AndyShore There are so many awesome bands at a festival like ACL. It’s impossible to predict exactly how your day is going to go. You might discover a new favorite band or get lazy and not want to rush back across the festival grounds. It’s fun to look at the schedule, and try and say exactly where you’re going to be throughout the day. Especially when you have to crash. You don’t know exactly when you’ll make it into the festival. That being said, here’s my guestimation as to what today will look like for me.
If all goes well, we’ll be in for JJ Grey & Mofro at noon. He’s southern rocker who we’ve seen before and enjoy. I remember Zack saying something about going to see the Soft Pack, but I may do some wandering at that time. I will be upset if we’re not in by Blues Traveler. They always kill it live and I’ve liked them for a long, long time.
It picks up from there. Miike Snow has been hyped so much by Zack and Bryn. I hope they do not disappoint. We’re up for an injection of rock sauce next with the Black Keys. I haven’t seen them since the new album came out. I’m excited to see a different set than I saw 4 times in 2008. Beach House will be a good time to relax with a sandwich or two.
Hometown darlings, Spoon, should be a solid show, but I can see Zack and I leaving to get a good spot for Vampire Weekend. We’ve already discussed ducking out of that set early to get to Phish, so at least we’ll have a good spot for a while. That brings us to Phish. Ohmygod I’m seeing Phish today. It’s been almost one full year. Zack already broke the 24 hour rule by playing their Exile set when he picked me up from the airport last night. It’s the band, but not playing their songs. I guess it’s a violation if we hear “Loving Cup” tonight. I’ll be ok with that. I love that song. Happy festivaling!
