American Idol Top 10 Girls Compete

Posted by shore On March - 3 - 2010

idolgirlstopten American Idol Top 10 Girls Compete@AndyShore There are still very few stars in this competition after last night. Lee Dewyze stood out above the rest. Andrew Garcia was solid and we saw much improved performances out of Big Mike Lynche and Alex Lambert. Hopefully the girls can step it up a little more than the guys did. The producers kept saying all day long that if Crystal Bowersox wasn’t well enough to perform, she would be disqualified and only one girl would go home. They drew it out long enough to create suspense, but Seacrest Tweeted earlier that she would perform. It would have been a shame if she had to go home without putting up a fight. American Idol Top 10 Guys Compete

Posted by shore On March - 2 - 2010

idoltoptenguys American Idol Top 10 Guys Compete@AndyShore The performances were sub par from both sexes last week. Very few, if any, contestants shined in their big stage debuts. The top ten girls were supposed to perform tonight, but a mystery illness from Crystal Bowersox threw a cog in that plan. The guys are going a night early, with the hopes that Bowersox will be healthy enough to go tomorrow. Andrew Garcia disappointed last week, and not because he chose to sing Fall Out Boy. His performance just wasn’t that great. Hopefully he will redeem himself this week. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol 4 Finalists Eliminated

Posted by shore On February - 25 - 2010

ashrodtoptwelvegirls American Idol 4 Finalists Eliminated@AndyShore Overall, it was a less than spectacular week one from American Idol. My favorite of the girls, Ashley Rodriguez, might be in trouble. Joe Munoz unexpectedly stood out from the guys. After Idol played up the chemistry between Casey James and Kara, her husband is sitting front and center. Tim Urban and Tyler Grady should go home from the guys. I’m not as sure about the girls, but I do hope Haeley Vaughn is one of them. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol Top 12 Guys

Posted by shore On February - 24 - 2010

guystoptwelve American Idol Top 12 Guys@AndyShore After the talk of it being the girl’s year, they didn’t deliver last night. Hopefully the guys will be better tonight. I didn’t see anybody last night that I thought could be a threat to Andrew Garcia. I would have said the same thing about the girls and Ashley Rodriguez last night, and she wound up being one of the worst performances of the night. The sports fan in me wants to say, “that’s why the play the game.” Let’s hope there’s a few more contestants that open some eyes tonight. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol Top 12 Girls Compete

Posted by shore On February - 23 - 2010

ashrodtoptwelvegirls American Idol Top 12 Girls Compete@AndyShore Tonight the top 12 girls perform on American Idol. I’m looking forward to seeing full performances from each contestant. They keep talking about how much talent there is from the girl’s side this year, but only Ashley Rodriguez has stood out to me. She’s also the hottest. Not a coincidence, but she’s got a great set of pipes. I do also recall Didi Benami and Janell Wheeler. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol: Hollywood Round 4

Posted by shore On February - 17 - 2010

idolhwoodroundfour American Idol: Hollywood Round 4 @AndyShore Last night we discovered seven of the top 24 of American Idol Season 9. Tonight we find out the other 17. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Andrew Garcia and Ashley Rodriguez are part of that group. Much like the contestants, Ellen is coming into her own this week in Hollywood. She has the hang of messing with the contestants, and has actually been able to offer valid criticisms. I hope that we don’t see the contestants repeat songs four and five times over tonight. I’ve had enough of “I’m Yours” and “Man in the Mirror” for one week. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol: Hollywood Round 3

Posted by shore On February - 16 - 2010

hollywoodroundthree American Idol: Hollywood Round 3@AndyShore This week is when contestants will begin to make a name for themselves. The group round is mostly pointless. It serves as a way to weed out the weak links and to ramp up the drama for our viewing pleasure. I am sure I will have my horses for this season by the time this week is over. I’m already on the Andrew Garcia bandwagon, but there are also quite a few talented ladies this season…and they can sing. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol: Hollywood Round 2

Posted by shore On February - 10 - 2010

idolhollywoodroundtwo American Idol: Hollywood Round 2@AndyShore It’s the dreaded group night says Ryan Seacrest. That just means there’s going to be a whole bunch of drama to make fun of. The Mighty Rangers left a key word out of their name, and Phoenix is taken. Stupid American Idol contestants. The producers do have one thing right. Sticking dozens of divas into small quarters and making them work together can only end in hilarious results. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol: Hollywood Round 1

Posted by shore On February - 9 - 2010

idolhollywoodroundone American Idol: Hollywood Round 1 @AndyShore Ellen makes her debut tonight as the replacement to Paula Abdul. NPH filled in admirably, but most of the celebrity judges were forgettable. Like the celebrity judges, the auditions were mostly forgettable. Last season I could tell you I wanted to root for Danny Gokey from the get go. There is nobody that stands out like that for me this season. Hopefully Hollywood will show us some contenders. Ellen’s debut has me excited for one thing. Crowd shots of Portia De Rossi. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol Auditions The Best of the Rest

Posted by shore On February - 3 - 2010

idolauditionsboston American Idol Auditions The Best of the Rest @AndyShore Tonight’s auditions have been labeled the best of the rest. That’s saying one of two things. The first option is they had an extra night in the schedule so they mustered up the not as spectacular or funny auditions for one more episode. That, or the rest of the the cities weren’t important enough for their own episodes or didn’t have enough talent. I’m not sure which one is the better. It doesn’t even say in the info whether any of the celebrity judges make an appearance. I’m looking forward to Hollywood. That’s when the cream starts to rise to the top. I’ll pick my horses then.
