Bonnaroo 2010 Line-up

Posted by teibs On February - 9 - 2010

bonnaroo2 300x68 Bonnaroo 2010 Line up@ZackTeibloom The 2010 Bonnaroo line-up unveiling was an exhausting mess, but we’re finally looking at a legit line-up. It’s a bit of a cross between Coachella and Jazz Fest with a few strong additions late in the night, it went from a big disappointment to a must-attend even if you hit Coachella and Jazz Fest. It’s amazing what adding a couple Jack’s (White and Black), Stevie, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Cliff will do. I’ve gone from a whiny “I’m not going” to “I must be there” and all it took was a nap. Let’s see what changed my mind and give this line-up the full attention it needs. Read the rest of this entry »

The Dead Weather 2010 Tour Dates Announced

Posted by teibs On February - 1 - 2010

tdw 300x199 The Dead Weather 2010 Tour Dates AnnouncedThird Man Vault posted details on The Dead Weather’s upcoming 11-date two week tour in late April, continuing into May. Pre-sale is currently only available for Third Man Vault members, which I’m happy to say I am. Here in Austin, we’ll be saying goodbye to April showers and bringing in May flowers with a month-ending show at Stubbs. Personally, I hope it pours that night. The Dead Weather will be coming back to Austin after their incredible ACL show last year with a new album to promote. No title or tracks have been leaked yet, but Vault members will soon be treated to vinyl pressings of tracks they’re working on. Full line-up of Dead Weather Spring tour dates after the jump. This is one show I’ll be buying a ticket for. See ya at Stubbs, Austin. See ya soon, Jack White.

Update: I bought two tickets this morning and they came out to about $33 each w/ shipping and fees. Read the rest of this entry »

Coachella 2010 Line-Up: Confirmed and Rumors

Posted by shore On December - 23 - 2009

coachellatwentyten Coachella 2010 Line Up: Confirmed and Rumors @AndyShore I saw some Twitter buzz earlier from Zack about the Coachella 2010 line-up. I remember reading some rumors last week, but didn’t realize that anything had been confirmed. MCA did an interview recently discussing his triumph over throat cancer and saying the Beastie Boys were weighing Coachella 2010 as their return. There are some stellar acts already confirmed, with some even more excited bands that are rumored. Zack and I were really hoping to get press passes last year to see Paul McCartney, but all will be forgiven for passes this time around. I’m officially out here on the west coast, and they better recognize. Read the rest of this entry »

Roster McCabe: Be a Part of New Album

Posted by shore On December - 11 - 2009

rostermccabealbum Roster McCabe: Be a Part of New Album @AndyShore Roster McCabe first came onto my radar when Kinetix came through Chicago during their Spring tour last year. They had just played a bunch of shows together and had struck up a friendship. I met Drew Preiner at 10klf and saw them play to a very packed Store the following week. They’ve got excellent musicianship and great songs. Billboard Magazine even recognized them as one of the bands to look out for on the jam scene. At 10klf I listened as Drew and Eric Blumenfeld of Kinetix discussed the trials and tribulations of making an album the right way. Last week, Roster McCabe announced just how they  intend to do that. Eclectic Method- The creators of Phish Fest 8 montage video

Posted by teibs On November - 17 - 2009

eclectic1 Eclectic Method The creators of Phish Fest 8 montage video@ZackTeibloom Festival Crashers have been super into mash-ups lately. We’ve been Girl Talk crazy forever, danced on stage with Hood Internet and Car Stereo (Wars) this month and my car stereo is being dominated by Hood Internet mix tapes.

Audio mash-ups are great, but the Phish Festival 8 video montage that Electric Method put together is something we had to talk to them about. You can all watch it, but I’ll let Andy let you know what it was like to be there.

“A video that began with “Thriller” turned into a whole mashup of the albums, songs and videos involved with the original 99 albums. As fans recognized different faces and songs throughout the video, roars would erupt for their favorites. Personally, I was just trying to figure out what tricks Phish had up their sleeve and whether or not they were actually playing the Rolling Stones. Alas, the video ended with the Stones and I could start breathing again knowing that I was about to get my “Rocks Off” with Exile on Main St.” -@andyshore Read the rest of this entry »

Phish Halloween Cover Album Final Countdown

Posted by teibs On October - 28 - 2009

phishies Phish Halloween Cover Album Final Countdown@ZackTeibloom We’re down to the final countdown and Phish 8 festival goers have started packing already. They’re getting their costumes together as Phish gets closer and closer to unveiling their musical costume. Wouldn’t it be cruel if they bring an album back to life or pick one that hasn’t been nominated at all? It’s fun to guess anyway. Here’s the last 15 remaining with a ranking from least to most likely. Read the rest of this entry »

Project 30-90 Festival

Posted by teibs On September - 3 - 2009

3090 300x153 Project 30 90 Festival@ZackTeibloom  New Orleans already has Jazz Fest, my favorite of 2009. They’ve even got Voodoo and Essence. Make room for another festival. Next week New Orleans hosts Project 30-90 Festival with headliners Ghostland Observatory and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Every festival aims to be as green as possible, but Project 30-90 kicks it up a notch. Read the rest of this entry »

Them Crooked Vultures to play Friday ACL

Posted by teibs On September - 1 - 2009

tcv Them Crooked Vultures to play Friday ACL@ZackTeibloom They finally replaced the Beastie Boys. The supergroup of supergroups, Them Crooked Vultures just exploded onto the scene and now they’re here to tear you a new one at ACL. If you don’t know yet, Them Crooked Vultures consists of Dave Grohl (of Nirvana, Foo Fighters) ripping shit up on drums, Josh Homme (of Queens of the Stone Age) on vox and guitar and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) keeping it steady on bass.

According to Rolling Stone, The band will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the Xbox 360 stage, just before Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kings of Leon’s dueling headlining sets. If you’re into rock like we are, it’ll be a killer one-two punch from Them Crooked Vultures into Kings of Leon.

I’m ecstatic. It’s even better than putting someone against Kings of Leon and making us choose. Now we get both. And I have a feeling the crowd at Kings of Leon will be especially raucous after having the biggest supergroup around hyping them up. LONG LIVE ROCK!
