I dont know if this is a blog or an article but srsly the writer needs to check their head and facts before they open their brainless mouth. First of all, the discounted CD were only available for 2 days, one of which Amazon crashed. Second of all, they only accounted for about 400 000 copies out of 8 millions sold worldwide. Lady Gaga sold averagely 1mil copies everymonth, only behind Adale. Third of all, it's Amazon who decided to sell it for 99 cents because they want to promote their new cloud service. These facts were all over the news but somehow people like you managed to deliberately escape them and instead made up/ twist the story. It's obviously you are hateful towards Lady Gaga, who is objectively a very talented and loving person despite all her theatrical stunts. Speak ill of her however long and much u want but she will not go along anytime soon and she will keep delivering and sit on her big fortunes, legacy and love of her fans worldwide and laugh at hateful trolls like you. What a pathetic piece of writing.

This contest is not about what the artist wear or what they stand for. It's about the songs. I dig the voice-synth stuff, but my god is that dude's voice annoying as shit. Less than a minute in and I had to turn it off out of fear that my ears might start bleeding.

I have never gone out of my way to listen to a Lady Gaga song and I probably won't ever, but there is no denying that her songs are well-crafted and mostly catchy.

I'd like to take this opportunity (sorry to butt in, Crashers!) to make an argument for tUnE-yArDs. I think what tUnE-yArDs are doing musically is legitimately boundary-pushing and unique. Not that they're the first or only artists to be making creative stuff that is simultaneously gorgeous and weird, but that they are taking risks in their music. They do things that make them happy, and if it's a flop, it's a flop.

Lady Gaga is no more weird or boundary-pushing than Katy Perry (who is a disgrace to womanhood, what with her self-objectification). I would argue Gaga is equally self-objectifying, even if under the guise of making herself uglier. I super support *her* support of the LGBTQ community, because that's awesome. But we should all be on that bandwagon now, and that alone does not inventiveness make. She's wearing outlandish things, but listen to her songs. They're as run-of-the-mill as they come. She makes a catchy pop song, sure, but her songs have started to sound exactly the same over and over again. It's already been said, but her like-for-like ripoff of Madonna is to the point where it should be embarrassing for her. I don't care what the woman wears - that's a part of the package of an entertainer, for sure, but hell, tUnEyArDs' Merrill Garbus (that's her *actual* weird name, people. She didn't need to invent some self-important pseudonym) wears weird asymmetrical shit all the time, too. The real risk is in the music, and I think tUnE-yArDs' risks pay off in songs that you'll still be excited about in years.

I'm not putting down the style at all. There are plenty of synthy/falsetto songs I like a lot. I just don't think this one is a good song.

Also, when you call a band huge realize what you're saying. I like Passion Pit, but they're not even in the same league as Foster The People. They had one song break the top 50 and it peaked at 48 and spent a whopping 1 week there.

I'm not some huge supporter of Foster the People either, but for the record, their album peaked at number 8 and spent 258 weeks on the charts.

Come to think of it, there are tons of heavy hitters making synth and/or falsetto tunes - Active Child, Sigur Ros, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, Prince... your taste is your own, but you might be crazy if you think Foster The People make more interesting music than these guys.

Rob - what about Passion Pit? They're synth/falsetto to the extreme and they're huge (and have more than one hit). They also love Stepdad. Sorry you don't hear what we hear.
